Iowisota
Overview of spaces.
The entire upper level of the house at Iowisota is used as guest space. It consists of a very large "gathering room" (pictured here), a full kitchen, four guest bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms. The bathroom doors can be locked in such a way that they can only be entered from the adjoining bedroom (making it a private ensuite), or the door between the bedroom and bath can be locked so that the bathrooms are only accessible from the hallway. All bedrooms have key-locked doors.
In addition, two additional bedrooms are available in an adjacent cabin. The cabin space is private and cozy, with its own sitting area, kitchenette, and full bathroom.

There are a total of 6 bedrooms available for event use. Some camping may be available on-site by request.
Bedroom 1,
aka the Oak Room
This bedroom is furnished with a queen bed and two dressers. The window looks out to corral and hillside. We also call this the oak room, as the wainscoting in the hall outside this room is red oak. This room adjoins the handicap accessible bathroom.
Bedroom 2,
aka the Elm Room
This bedroom is also furnished with a queen bed. The window looks out to corral and hillside. We also call this the elm room, as the wainscoting in the hall outside this room is American elm.
Bedroom 3,
aka the Ash Room or Bunkroom
This bedroom is furnished with a bunkbed and a double bed. There is a recliner with a reading light. Perfect for a small family group. This is one of the three bedrooms on the west side of the house, with a window looking out to the valley hillside pasture and forest. It has wainscoting of ash wood in the hallway outside the door.
Bedroom 4,
aka the Cherry Room
This bedroom is furnished with a queen bed and antique dressers. The large front window looks out to the Mississippi River. This room adjoins the "old fashioned bathroom" (with a clawfoot tub/shower). We also call this the cherry room, as the wainscoting in the hall outside this room is cherry.
The Bathrooms
The "old-fashioned" bathroom tastefully brings back a bit of nostalgia with a clawfoot tub and re-purposed furnishings.

The "handicap accessible" bathroom has a luxurious tile shower and adequate room to negotiate.
The Kitchen
The "guest kitchen" is fully equipped with gas stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and lots of counter space. All cooking equipment and tableware is provided, as well as basic condiments. Coffee and tea are always available. Small groups can dine at the dropleaf table, larger groups may want to use the adjacent gathering room.
The Cabin
The Cabin was built in 2008, with the interior finished in various woods from the property. It has a full bathroom and two bedrooms: one with a double bed, the other with a bunkbed and twin single. There is also a double bed futon in the livingroom. The kitchenette has refrigerator, sink, microwave, hotplates/convection plate, and all cookware and tableware. The interior is heated by wood stove and cooled by a small window air conditioner. We will post a better set of pictures of the cabin spaces later, but these give you some idea of what to expect.
